Antiques Italian black hoods from a Tuscany “Confraternita della Buona Morte”.
These religious societies (as all the “Confraternite della Misericordia”) assisted dying people and prisoners with death sentences (in the earlier times). These hoods are from early 1900’s, in great condition, with 2 buttonholes to close the hood with the tunic.
Identity of the person must be a secret, with the meaning that what they were doing was not to receive a reward
