Italian Surgical Lithotomy Set

From a private Italian collector a rare surgical Lithotomy set. It comes from Sicily, where an early medical tradition grew, and possibly it was previously from a museum, due a metal plate with inventory number.

The lithotomy set is from early 1800’s, all ebony handles, it’s the first time we see this configuration of instruments, with the big syringe and a so complete set of forceps, catheters and scalpels all together.

A great engraved mark of the maker in some of the scalpels.

Measures: 37 x 30 x 8 cm.
