Trepanning & Amputation Surgical Set - 1700's

An exceptional trepanning & amputation set, signed "Schnetter" a great surgical instruments maker active in Wien in the second half of the 1700's and the early 1800's.

The trepanning drawer comes with the very rare elevator, and it's quiete unusual the green tissue lined as well.

The capital amputation saw comes with the reserve second blade.

The major instruments are marked "Schnetter", and all of them are coherent in terms of age and space with the set, with ebony handles. One scalpel, one knife, the little forceps and the metacarpal amputation saw are old replacement, and one little forceps is missing, otherwise in perfect and complete condition in the impressive wooden case covered with leather.
